This upcoming Sunday, May 28th, the community of Tampa invites local residents and visitors alike to gather at the Veterans Memorial Park & Museum for the 28th annual Memorial Day Observance ceremony, commencing at 10 a.m. Among the highlights will be the honoring of Gold Star families, who will receive "Garden of Gold" pictorial flags, symbolizing their loved ones' sacrifices. This Memorial Day, unlike any other, emphasizes the importance of family, remembrance, and national pride.
A Heartfelt Salute to Our Heroes
Attendees will be warmly welcomed by the sight of an impressive American flag that soars above the park, stretching more than 150 feet toward the sky. This vibrant display serves as a focal point, evoking gratitude, pride, and a strong sense of community among those present. The ceremony not only celebrates the bravery of our armed forces but also showcases the camaraderie of those who have served alongside them. Special guests, including Col. Jeff J. Mrazik, Commander of the 6th Operations Group at MacDill Air Force Base, and Retired U.S. Army Col. Alfred "Al" Carter, Chief of Staff, Florida Department of Veteran Affairs, will add their voices to the event, reinforcing the shared respect for veterans.
